WORKSHOP: Film Writing for Beginners

Understand the rudiments of writing effective scripts for film and TV in this beginners workshop, sponsored by the LaSalle Puttnam School of Film. The class explores the 3-Act structure. It is a hands-on session for students to create compelling characters, to build story world, to shape conflict and tension, and to work in secrets and suspense into their scenes. Other screenwriting ingredients such as stakes, climax and resolution, will also be covered. Students will also read a sample scene to understand screenwriting format for action description, dialogue, props and location.
