The Rhythm, Sounds and Humour in Adapting Scripts for Theatre:
Supported by Singapore Repertory Theatre

Danny Yeo
Moderator: Paul Adams

Supported by Singapore Repertory Theatre, the session looks into translation and transcendence of existing content into an adapted script intended for theatre production. Discover the fun ideas, intricate thoughts, and effective lessons in play creation. Aspiring writers, parents and teachers of young children can get behind-the-scene tips from veteran theatre practitioner and bilingual extraordinaire Danny Yeo (Yang Junwei) who will share his experience of writing and directing children musicals, as well as the challenges and excitements in adapting English scripts into Chinese plays. A proud uncle of two – aged 6 and 8 - he started creating children’s productions and original Mandarin musicals to involve his young nephews. He is happy to report positive results since putting in conscientious efforts for the past four years.

The session will be conducted in Mandarin and English.
